IMPORTANCE OF PLAY:
Play is a child’s way of engaging and making sense of the world.  Through play young children learn practical life skills such as dressing themselves, how to cooperate and share with others.  Essentially they are experimenting with decision making on how to behave and are also practising their social skills and fundamental motor skills.  Children learn from experience: from what happens around them, from what they see, hear, smell, taste and touch.   To absorb those experiences and make sense of the world, they need to be engaged in play.  Today I am sharing with you two Fisher Price toys that promote this fun and learning through play!

PUPPY PLAYHOUSE

The Fisher Price Puppy Playhouse is a super cute toy and the puppy is incredibly adorable.  My little Miss 22months is repetitively putting puppy in and out of the playhouse and carrying it around the house with her.  She love to pretend to take her puppy on walks and feed him bickies from his bowl which is attached to the house.
The Fisher Price Puppy Playhouse promotes so much fun and learning!  It is a toy that is perfectly suited for toddlers aged 6 – 36 months as it arouses their curiosity to learn, touch and feel the busy activities, listen to the repetitive songs that encourage learning the alphabet, numbers, colours and so much more.

Learning through play with the Puppy Playhouse:
  • Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination through pressing, touching, spinning and manipulating the buttons and other features on the playhouse.
  • Cause and effect: discovering that shaking the puppy will cause a rattling sound.
  • Language development: listening to repetitive songs about colours, greetings, numbers and opposites.  Making noises and sounds of a puppy dog.
  • Imaginative play: role play and pretending to be a puppy and, or caring for a puppy dog.
PUPPY’S LEARNING CAR

Broom, broom……beep, beep!  You can already hear and see the fun that can be had with the Fisher Price Puppy’s Learning Car!  Children are attracted to the bright colours and there are fun parts to twist, twirl and roll.
This is a fabulous toy for all toddlers aged 6 – 36 months who are fascinated with movement as they can crawl alongside as they play and push Puppy’s Learning Car along the ground.  It has a number of cute songs that encourage the learning of numbers, greetings and more.

Learning through Play with Puppy’s Learning Car:
  • The Puppy’s Learning Car helps to build gross motor skills as it encourages toddlers to chase and crawl or following along as they push the car along the ground.
  • Develops fine motor skills and hand- eye coordination through twisting, twirling and rolling the features on the toy car.
  • Language development: listening to repetitive songs about colours, greetings, numbers and opposites.  Encourages the use of words such as broom, broom and beep, beep.
  • Cause and effect: through action is a reaction and being rewarded with fun responses such as twisting the purple key to get music and engine sounds.

My favourite would have to be the puppy play house as it teaches numbers, letters. Which I’m trying to teach my toddler at the moment.

  5. Melissa Okimoto

The Puppy car is, it combines my daughters current two favourite things a dog and a car. She would have so much fun pushing around the house chasing the dog.

  6. Puppy playhouse for me
    It teaches 1,2,3
    Opposites and colours
    Imagination too

  9. The puppy playhouse would be great for my almost 1 year old as it looks like lots of fun…and no pooper scooping required so a perfect pet too!

  10. The puppys learning car . My boy of four loves cars and dogs, it is good for his fine and gross motor skills to play with. This is a awsome giveaway from you guys.

  11. I think the puppy car looks great my son loves dogs and cars. He would have so much fun with this along with teaching him fine motor skills. 🙂

  12. My favourite is the puppy playhouse. My daughter is just starting to learn her numbers, colours and alphabet so this would be perfect for her and so versatile. What a great learning aid! Also like how it has a handle so easy to carry around with her at home or out visiting.

  13. Kerri Schwensen

My gorgeous daughter would absolutely fall in love with the puppy playhouse . She loves puppies and has such a gentle caring nature you can be assured the puppy playhouse would be going to a loving new home. Of course with all the loving would come the learning as well.

  14. My favourite is the Puppy Learning Car. My son just loves anything with wheels and his favourite animal is a dog – so perfect. In addition to being a puppy with wheels, my sons will learn as they play – bonus!

  15. Rosalie bernacki

Love the puppy playhouse. A super cool learning tool and a great way to teach little people about puppies and being responsible

  16. My favourite in the Puppy Playhouse… yes it is educational and teaches number and letters but really I just like it because IT’S CUTE!! 🙂

  17. Chantelle Dornan

My 19 month old would definitely love the puppy car. She’s really getting into pushing her toys along as she walks/crawls, so she would love being able to push it along with her.

  18. The Puppy Playhouse is my favourite, our poor dogs (one of who is 14) get a hard time from my just turn 2 year old, maybe this would distract her from annoying them for a little while and its educational 🙂

  19. Julienne Locke

I think the puppy house would be the favourite here… i think the imaginative role play with the house and puppy would result in alot of “quiet” play. The puppy could go everywhere in my daughters imagination…

  20. My daughter would love the Puppy Learning Car as she would love pushing it along the ground! Perfect for her current age!

  21. shakia Northan

I would have to say the play house. the kids i care for would really like this because he has his own dog house , and they can play together. They kids will have fun learning throurgh play.

  22. Puppy playhouse, what a great interactive way to teach hand motor skills, educational playtime & just keeping them out of your hair while you desperately need to get that last load of washing on!

  23. I’d love the Puppy Playhouse for my two little bubs – I think it’s great that the puppy has it’s own little house and I could teach them how puppies are cared for (since we don’t have any pets yet)!

  24. My little miss would definately love the puppy playhouse ! She loves to learn and absolutely adores our dog but our dog is a bit big for her lol. Can teach her to count and learn language in a fun interactive way! 🙂

  25. Hi i love the Puppy Playhouse, not only because it teaches numbers and clouds etc but that I can take it in the car on long trips and it would be a great tool to use to talk to both my boys 3 years and 3 months about all different thinks great imaginative play and a great way for me to interact with moth my boys . THanks

  26. The Puppy Learning Car would be ideal for my busy two year old daughter who is puppy and car mad at the moment!!!

  27. I love the Puppy playhouse. It would be perfect for my little man as he loves putting objects in things and taking them out again, plus it would help develop his language and cognitive skills

  28. I think that the Learning Car would be fantastic for my no.2 son (nearly 3) to learn his colours, numbers and letters in preparation for kindy next year. Its very difficult to spend the same amount of time with your no 2 child as you wouldhave done with your first born, but this learning car provides him with learning activities and at the same time having fun playing cars! just like any other boys of his age! and mum gets to have fun with it too!

  29. My favourite would have to be the puppy playhouse. I love that it combines both pretend play and also learning alphabet and numbers. I also love that it appeals to a broad age range, I’m sure both my 2 year old and 10 month old would have hours of fun with this toy and will continue to do so for years to come.

  30. My favourite is the puppy play car – my son loves cars (like his Dad!) whilst this Mum loves the interactive nature of the toy and that is teaches movement and language at the same time.
